![]() ![]() It’s my first laptop and i’m still gettin’ to it. So it looks like, i’ve panicked to quickly and fans are running properly. When temps go up above 80deg, then fans start to cool and even speed up a little, then the temp start falling to 40 deg, and when the load disappears, the fans turn off. I made another test, this time with “always on fan” turned off in BIOS and the same cpu-x benchmark for 6 threads for 3 mins. ![]() I think it’s not the most demanding benchmark anyways (maybe?) The benchmark was prime number for 3 minutes and 6 cores. I’ve checked the boxes in gkrellm and monitored it while running cpu-x benchmark. All other options during the scan had no sensors found. It seems to appear this way every time i run sensors-detect. Using driver `i2c-piix4’ for device 0000:00:14.0: AMD KERNCZ SMBus ![]() The only thing found is:ĭo you want to probe the I2C/SMBus adapters now? (YES/no): yes What I need is for the fan the keep quiet.Well, sensors-detect didn’t find any new sensors. I never had the issue and never investigated. Used 'cpupower' to put the governor to 'conservative'Īdded 'up_threshold' for tunning it in /etc/tmpfiles.d/Īll of the above made it bearable but the fan still gets excited for no reason.Īmd_pstate is in use and am wondering if amd_pstate is the issue here ? I can't say what was used in Fedora 36 because. What I did to mitigate the noise (unbearable): Newest kernel seems to be putting the CPU Governor at performance (and boost ) level all the time. Also, I do not think I should be calling it an issue as from my digging nothing seems to be wrong but working as expected. Solved all the issues but one which is Fan ramping up when very little ressources are being used.ĭid some research and came up with diag that Fedora 37 Workstation does not seem to be the issue but newest kernel. Moved to Ubuntu LTS for a little bit but had issues with Firefox snapd that I could not fix. Upgraded to Fedora 37 and screw the pouch (multiple issues). ![]()
